A. A UST system that has cathodic protection should be tested every 6 months.

A. In case there is a suspected leak in the UST system, the DEQ/LARA should be notified within 7 days.
Q. What should the operator and owner do to close a tank permanently?
A. They should remove the tank from the ground, empty and clean it of residual liquids, sludge and vapors and fill it up with an inert solid.
Q. An automatic tank gauge should be able to detect a leak amounting to how many gallons?
A. 0.2 gallons/hr
Q. What should an operator do when a release is confirmed?
A. Notify the DEQ within 24 hours of the release.
